@0##FALSE# @1#Hi, I’m Jane. I work within the Lipton Institute of Tea as Category Nutrition Manager for Tea-based Beverages.#HOME_LIOT# @9#I work with over 60 people across the world, who are all looking to understand the health benefits of tea.#WORLD# @15#Within the Lipton Institute of Tea we have great scientists and they have a global network with leading academics, #WORLD# @21#who are all working together to really understand what tea does for us and the benefits that it can provide. #WORLD#
Tea is full of goodness
@0#Scientists around the world are really trying to understand how tea can benefit people’s health.# @6#We know that it’s zero calories and it’s rehydrating.#0_CAL# @9#It’s also a really pleasurable tasty beverage.# @12#In the short term, in the afternoon you might want to have a cup of tea to help revive you.# @17#We know that it can stimulate you both physically and mentally.#BRAIN# @22#Also it helps to boost your antioxidant defences.#ANTIOX# @25#Over the longer term, scientists are working to understand regular tea consumption and the benefits it can have# @29#and the strongest evidence is in the area of heart health but there’s also science looking at immune health and oral health as well.#
Some of the things we have found
@0#Scientists within the Lipton Institute of Tea have been working to understand the antioxidant effects of tea.#ANTIOX# @8#We know that tea can increase antioxidant capacity of blood.# @12#Scientists have also shown that that’s unaffected by the addition of milk# @17#and we continue to contribute to the antioxidant debate to take the science forward.# @26#The other areas that we’ve been looking at are some of the benefits that tea can have in the short term#FALSE# @34#so when you have a cup of tea you see that you have an immediate reviving, #YOGA# @38#relaxed but alert mental state and we want to understand what’s driving that.# @43#And the third area was catechins.#MOLECULE# @46#We know that catechins, from studies in Asia, are thought to affect body fat distribution and energy expenditure# @52#and we want to understand that further.# @55#Obviously, tea’s benefits don’t stop there and we, at the Lipton Institute of Tea, are really trying to understand what other benefits tea can provide# @63#- things such as immune health, oral health, amongst others.#
Make tea a part of a healthy lifestyle
@0#We all know that we need to consume between 2 to 3 litres of fluid a day and many publications and studies over the last 3 or 4 years#FALSE# @3#We all know that we need to consume between 2 to 3 litres of fluid a day and many publications and studies over the last 3 or 4 years#FLUID# @9#have started to dispel the myth that tea is actually dehydrating and to reinforce that it’s actually rehydrating# @18#and indeed it can contribute to those 2 to 3 litres of fluid that you need to consume each day.#DRINK# @23#As well as that, it’s zero-calorie and therefore it’s a great way, a great contribution to a healthy diet.#
